A $279.99 robot can exceed a $300 total budget

At the October 15 manufacturer observations, Q7 L5 was $199.99 and Q10 S5+ was $279.99 before tax and delivery. These are dated US manufacturer prices, not current Amazon offers. The observed difference is $80, not a permanent price relationship.

The Q10 observation leaves $20.01 below a $300 cap. As an illustration only, adding 8% tax with no delivery charge makes $302.39, which fails a $300 delivered limit. At the same illustrative tax rate, $199.99 becomes $215.99. Use your actual checkout total; this is not a regional tax claim.

Separate the initial delivered cost from ownership supplies. Q10’s dock needs replacement dust bags; both robots need routine brush, filter and mop care. Verify supply compatibility and price before choosing. A renewed offer is a different condition, not proof that the new kit fits the same budget.

Choose manual bin emptying or dock bags deliberately

The compared Q7 L5 kit has a charging dock. The Q10 S5+ kit has an auto-empty station that transfers onboard debris into a disposable bag. The plus suffix and the included-parts list matter more than a similar product photograph.

Neither dock here washes or dries the mop or refills its water tank. If mop care is the chore you want to eliminate, neither is a complete solution. Do not confuse automatic vacuum-debris disposal with a full-service mop dock.

Prepare the route even when the box says mapping

LiDAR maps room geometry; it does not by itself establish small-object avoidance. Both linked manufacturer manuals tell owners to clear cords and loose items and observe the initial cleaning route. Plan that work before scheduling the robot.

The Q10 S5+ has an additional ReactiveTech sensor, but its cited independent obstacle test was weak. A room with recurring loose cables or small toys calls for preparation, not confidence based on a feature name. We have not established safe unattended pet-mess avoidance for either machine.

Read the conflicting tests before paying for automation

Vacuum Wars reported efficient controlled navigation and good cleaning from its purchased Q10 S5+. Tom’s Guide reported repeated navigation trouble, limited runtime, loud dock emptying and awkward mop work in a home trial. These are different test contexts; we do not average their conclusions or treat the more favorable one as a guarantee.

We have no equivalent independent Q7 L5 test to establish a two-model cleaning winner. The Q7 reason to buy here is its documented lower-cost charging-dock configuration, not a claim of stronger pickup. We omit conflicting maximum runtime and days-between-emptying claims.

Check the supplied manual and floor-care routine

For Q7 L5, the manufacturer-linked Q7-series manual specifies dampening and wringing the cloth before installation and emptying unused tank water after mopping. It also instructs a moisture-proof mat on wood flooring. Follow your flooring maker’s cleaning guidance and the manual for the actual delivered kit.

The Q10-series manual includes both charging and auto-empty docks, so a shared manual does not establish which station a marketplace offer includes.
