What the research says
RTINGS tested 65 inches: strong SDR brightness for indirect light, but poor direct reflections and limited wide-seat suitability. It is a 2025 budget model replaced in the 2026 range.
Define the budget before comparing the badges
Write down the maximum you can spend after tax, delivery and any stand or mounting work. Compare television-only offers in the same new or refurbished condition. A discounted bundle can still exceed your budget when you did not need its soundbar.
These models sit below premium Mini-LED series. That makes them useful starting candidates, not proof that their Amazon offers are currently inexpensive. We have not published a live price feed or verified a fixed-dollar eligibility threshold.
The upgrade worth understanding: local dimming
A 65-inch screen is not automatically a good picture. Local dimming gives the backlight more control than a basic uniformly lit LCD. It is a reason to compare these models when their offers fit your limit, but it does not remove blooming or guarantee spectacular HDR.
For ordinary streaming, choose around the weaknesses you can tolerate: reflections opposite a window, side-seat image changes or blur in fast action. More marketing zones and brighter-demo claims are poor substitutes for that decision.
Choose the platform, then check the gaming setup
If you already prefer Google TV or Fire TV, that may settle two otherwise close offers. Check that your essential streaming apps are available in your region. An external streaming device is another cost if the built-in system does not suit you.
Both televisions advertise high-refresh capability, but confirm the right HDMI input and your console or PC output. TCL’s 288 gaming-rate headline is not 4K/288Hz. On the Hisense, the independent VRR caveat is relevant if your PC games fluctuate near the affected frame rate.
Use a stop rule at checkout
Stop if the title changes to a different screen size, a soundbar bundle, an imported variant or a renewed unit you did not intend to buy. Compare seller, return costs and delivery arrangements for a large television.
If the final total approaches a stronger model from our all-round shortlist, compare that exact upgrade before ordering. A budget-series name is not enough reason to accept a poor offer.

Most television and film sources do not use 144 frames per second. Treat high-refresh support as a gaming feature, not a reason alone to exceed your budget.
Are these the newest models?
They are identified 2025 models. Hisense’s U65QF has a 2026 replacement. Compare newer models if close in price; an older model is only a value purchase at a suitable offer.
